With today’s fast paste in technology there are some many different avenues in which you can advertise yourself. Creating a website is one of the best and easiest way to do so.
Creating your own website, not just a blog, can give you more exposure and allows you to express yourself more creatively. This is also a great chance to show off some digital skills. If you don’t know how to create your own website, I’m not against using a free website creator. Although, there are different opinions on this.
When you make your website be sure to include a section about yourself and a “Contact Me” section, alongside all of your best work.
Recruiters and employers are now using technology to their advantage as well. They are searching online for potential hires, sometimes instead of creating a job posting. This is why it is so important to have a contact section.
To show you some examples, I’ve asked friends to send me their websites. Keep in mind I have a lot of Communication friends with degrees in film/video, photography and graphic design. These formats might not work for everyone, but you can get the idea.
